THE COMMITTEE

The Monroe County Republican Committee is the only organization solely dedicated to growing the Republican Party, and electing Republicans at the federal, state, county and local level in Monroe County.

What We Stand For

The Republican Party is the Grand Opportunity Party (G.O.P) — we are the party of a stronger and freer America!

We work to promote the ideals that our country and party were founded upon: freedom, liberty, personal responsibility, and accountability.

As Republicans, we fight to:

  • Win the War on Terror
Ensuring that Americans remain safe, terrorists are defeated, and democracy flourishes in the world

  • Restore the American Dream
Creating an environment where everyone has the opportunity to achieve the American Dream

  • Strengthen our Communities
Preparing students for success in life by bringing the benefits of education reform to local schools

  • Strengthen our Families
Protecting the sanctity of marriage and the rights of the unborn

  • Reduce the Size of Government and Streamline the Bureaucracy
Fighting for individuals’ rights in opposition to a large, bloated government

Our Party’s Structure

Registered Republicans elect County Committee & State Committee members in the primary election in which a governor is to be elected.  In Monroe County, there are a little over 100 elected County Committee positions; and Three county-wide elected State Committee positions.  The County Chairman is elected by the duly elected county committee members for a two-year term within 30 days following each even-number-year primary.

State Committee members and County Chairman serve on the state party and elect a Chairman and Vice Chairman to a four-year term. State party members also elect a National Committeeman and National Committeewoman to represent Pennsylvania, along with the Chairman, on the Republican National Committee.
